Yamaha FG-180 Jumbo Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

Yamaha FG-180 Jumbo Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

TRADES - LAYAWAY - 0% FINANCING

Weight: 4.1lbs

Case: Case

Year: 1960s-1970s

Cosmetic Condition:  Guitar has plenty of scratches and indentations from many years of use.  There is a good amount of buckle rash on the back of the guitar as well as a good sized chip on the headstock behind the low E tuning machine.  Amazing sounding guitar.

SETUP & INSPECTED BY OUR LUTHIER

Tech Notes: Plays and sounds really good, 6/64th action to 5/64th action across the 12th fret with .009" relief.  Truss rod functions perfectly, just a bit tight to move.  12-53 gauge light strings.  We did raise the nut slightly with a thin maple shim and then cut and lube the bridge to optimize action over the 1st fret.  Saddle is cut quite low, so there isn't a ton of room to go lower in the future, but I see no reason this setup height wouldn't last  decade considering how seasoned the wood is. Lightly smells of smoke if you have a sensitive nose.
