Our PRS Sculpture series is coming to an end, with this Private Stock being the second-to-last piece ever produced.
For this build, we wanted to capture the essence of a traditional acoustic guitar in electric form. Since the original Sculpture ‘Study’ guitar was an experiment in tonewood, weight, and design, we decided to bring back a couple of the things we learned.
Weight is extremely important to tone and resonance. This guitar utilizes lightweight mahogany in its body and a spruce top, helping the weight ring in at only 3.7 pounds.
We chose body, neck, and headstock ivroid binding combined with abalone purfling in order to capture the look of iconic high-end acoustic guitars.
While our Sculpture series guitars use piezo-only pickups and do sound very “acousticy”, they have a huge fat tone that’s all their own. The combination of acoustic guitar style aesthetics plus the electric guitar building mastery of Paul Reed Smith’s Private Stock team makes this one of the most special Sculpture guitars we have built to date. SETUP & INSPECTED BY OUR TECH TEAM
All of our guitars come with a FREE professional setup to a comfortable action as specified by that instrument’s manufacturer. Our setups always include inspection of (and necessary adjustment to): action, intonation, tremolo angle, truss rod, frets, nut, bridge, and more. We can accommodate special setup requests - additional charges and/or shipping delays of 1-2 business days could occur.
