Jesse from Ish Guitars here - this funky Spector Coda 4 String Bass with Sims Super Quad pickup started with an idea - why not put a Precision Bass pickup in a Jazz Bass body? Then that idea quickly turned into why not use the incredibly innovative and versatile Sims pickup in the sweet spot for tons of tone combinations.
The Super Quad pickup contains four hand-wound coils which allows the user to alternate between the three most iconic pickup coil configurations:
SPLIT COIL [Precision Bass], SINGLE COIL [Jazz Bass] and FULL HUMBUCKER [StingRay].
Not only do you have unrestricted access to all three of the classic pickup tones you've heard on millions of records [in a single pickup], there is tons of room to expand upon them by taking advantage of the 3 uniquely possible, different pickup configurations. All whilst experiencing no change in output volume.
Contrary to common perception, due to the tri-colour coil mode LEDs, the Super-Quad pickups are completely PASSIVE. On this bass it is combined with an Aguilar OPB-3 pre-amp for even more luscious tone.
This is a complete one off bass and we will not build another!
