Necks are dated from 1983 to 1984. Cutlass 1 Basses use either strings-through-body bridges or top-load bridges and either 3 bolt or 4 bolt neck plates. Approx 600 made.

TRADES - LAYAWAY - 0% FINANCING

Weight: 9.8lbs

Case: Levy's Gig Bag

Year: 1983

Cosmetic Condition: Very good - There is a good amount of scratching on the back of the bass as well as some small chips in the finish on the side.  There are also some indentations on the top as well as some general hardware corrosion.  See our listing photos.

SETUP & INSPECTED BY OUR LUTHIER

Tech Notes: Upon arrival this bass had a defective jack and pigtail which we replaced.  Additionally we did need to shim the bass with a full pocket neck shim made of maple to correct the neck angle.  The bass plays well, with medium action, the truss rod is not adjustable, and the relief is .022".  The bass plays very comfortably, but does choke out a little on the upper frets past the 15th.  The string alignment is a bit off, as the strings sit a bit closer to the low side, and the high strings sit inside the board quite a bit.  The fret wear is moderate, with some definite wear especially in the first few positions on the two middle strings (A & D).  The bass sounds great. and the electronics work as intended with the original preamp.
