SETUP & INSPECTED BY OUR LUTHIER

Weight: 8.6lbs

Case: Original Hardshell Case

Year: 1958

Cosmetic Condition: The bass is in very good condition. There is finish checking around the body as well as a good amount of small chips and scratches across the bass. There is also some checking on the fretboard. The case is quite worn but is still fully functional. Please see our listing photos.

Tech Notes: Plays great, tight neck fit, perfect neck angle. No signs of any mods or changes, or repairs. However, the neck does show the year (May 58’) and so do the potentiometers, however the backplate serial is 1956. After speaking with Fender, they advised that oftentimes they’d use whatever parts were available. Also, parts were typically in a big bin refilling from the top, so parts manufactured in earlier years would often make it into guitars produced in later years. They advised us to use the most recent year part as the overall year (1958). Serious amounts of nitro checking on every part, no breaks, just finish checks. All appropriate tooling marks are present. Missing pickup ashtray, comes with bridge ashtray. No original screws included with the included ashtray. Plays medium action with minimal relief. 45-100 D’Addario XL strings installed. Everything plays and sounds great. Very light fretwear, frets do look original.
